Money, Money, Money
Frustrated. This is how I feel when my stomach has nothing in it. My stomach was empty. It was screaming at me to feed it. It was dark and empty. It was not fed for days now. It was begging me for food. Actually I had no food, no nothing. It makes it even harder to move around since Saudi Arabia is so hot. And I was so hungry I could possibly starve to death. Unfortunately, I have no money. I have to buy food but WORKING IS HARD! Money is really hard to make.
Just by walking from the store in my country to my house makes me starve. It’s like I am dying! The road was hot and and long. I was hungry and sweating. My feet were melting because every time I lift up my foot, the other foot is sinking down in the hot boiling sand. And when I have to go back, my stomach grumbled for food.Unfortunately, the problem is I have NO MONEY! So far I have only made 1.07 dollars in the company I have been working for. So I’ve always wished that Saudi Arabian government would ever consider having government assistance and thinking of ways or ideas to help the poor in Saudi Arabia. As I was walking to my house hungry and unconfident, I was trying to go to my house to take some things to mine.
Hopes & Dreams
It was another regular day in Saudi Arabia. But then, something got to me and I just thought of this gigantic brilliant idea. I thought Man! Why didn't I think of this first ! I am so stupid!. I got the perfect idea!
So, I sprinted into my old dusty room and grabbed some pens and pencil so I can write the perfect letter. Some of the pens ran out of ink since we used it over and over. Our whole family of 6 people share one old pen. But then, I found some extra money hidden under mama's pillow and took some of that money to buy a brand new cheap pen and some food. I ran as fast as I can to the bookstore and bought the lowest price pen. It still cost more than half of the money I brought to buy food too. So, I couldn't buy any food, only a blue pen, full ink.
But the problem is, mama doesn't know that I took her money. I think she would be okay with it. Mama is a nice person. On the way home I thought, This is definitely going to work! I mean this is the best Idea I have. So, I took out my blue pen and started scribbling words on it as fast as I can so I don’t loose my ideas.I decided to write a note. But this note is note is NOT normal. It is very special. I tried to write with my best handwriting. And the next thing that I know, it was sent to the government. I was so excited, I jumped around my house bouncing up and down up and down for like hours. Then, I finally decided to calm down and be professional. I took a deep breath, calm my face down and sat quietly. But, I couldn't keep it in. It was hard to calm down when you are in a very hard situation and you are about to do something mind blowing.
“AHHHH!” I screamed in excitement
I was so excited to see how they would react to my note. I knew that it was gonna work.If this doesn't work, I don't even know what I'm going to do.Thinking of an idea is hard! Especially when education was not provided to me when I was young.
But, two days later, the police came directly to my house and sent me to jail.
“Come with me!”the two policemen said. I was unsure why at first.so I said:
“Why do I need to come with you?” I said confidently.
“COME NOW!” they screamed directly in my face. Some of their saliva went on my shirt. It was gross.
At that moment , I was not confident any more. Their faces turned red, eyes popped out and grabbed my arms. They were like bulls when they see red. Smoke was coming out of their ears and there were flaming hot.
I was surprised when they came to my house and took me to jail. That's why I was just sitting in my cell thinking about why or how I ended up in here. Suddenly, two big men with big muscles came up to my cell and said:
"Come with me!" he said in a very low tune.
My hands were just shaking just from standing next to him. Looking around in the cells, prisoners stared at me deeply in the eyes. That was when it gave me the willies.
My foot was hurting after walking a long distance from my cell to somewhere mysterious. My foot had some bruses on them and it hurts so bad that i might have to go to the doctor. It was a long black distance i had to go to enter court. I saw this big room with a lot of people in there and that I found out they sended me to court.
That's when I suddenly realized that maybe it's my note. As I walked through the court, hundreds of eyes were staring at me. I didn't really know if it is a good thing or a bad thing that I'm in court.
After going to court, I found out that the Saudi Arabian governments are still deciding on my idea. It was scary standing in there with hundreds of eyes looking on you when you know you are not in a really good situation. Then, the government spoke up.
"You shall stay in jail until we have an answer!" he replied with a very high pitch.
I'm pretty sure everyone thinks this way, but jail was Awful! You don't even know how it's feels like. It's like when you're trapped in a cage dark and scary. You're all alone and nobody's there to help you. There is a window on top,it's made by iron. I heard that some people escaped from that window. But, they all ended up in a coffin. Days and months faded away. They still didn't have an answer yet. It was dark cold and scary in jail. Jail is horrible. I just wanted to escape so bad. The food sucks, it's dirty and I can't seem to look at the toilet since it's too filthy.
After 5 months of being in jail, they finally got their answer. So, the exact same two men came up to my cell and yelled:
"Come with me young lady!” said the big muscle man in a very weird way. I could barely hear him.
I stood up immediately. As he open my cell door, I was standing still on the left trying to avoid the cockroach on the right. It was gigantic! As soon as he opened door, I ran out. He was giving me a really scary stare.that's why I calmed myself down and stand up straight professionally. As we walked through the jail this time, I was handcuffed and I was keeping everything to myself. As I slightly tilt my head over to the left, a prisoner was staring at me. It was so scary.
My foot stepped into the gigantic doors to enter court. My heart was thumping so hard when I stepped on the first time in court. It was the scariest moment of my entire life.We talked for more than 4 hours in court. I tried fighting back but I would always fail. It was tiring, but a lot of good things happened. There was some exciting news. It was hard in jail but after this I totally forgot about jail.
Thinking about The Future
As the government walk towards my cell, my heart was pumping blood harder than ever.
"Oh I'm going to die am I?" I thought as my heart was in a race to the finish line.
I stood up and said:
"Am I in trouble?" I said scaredly
And all they screamed was:
" JUST COME WITH US ! " as the other one closes my cell door.
"Oh God." I thought. It felt like a devil is trying to capture you.
I found they didn't send me to jail but sender me to the really fancy room with beautiful lamps all fancy. It was the best room ever. I found out it was the government meeting room.
So that's where they drove me! I thought. I was still wearing the rusty old prison uniform. I. Didn't take a bath for about two days! I was scared that I was too stinky. Just as I sat down in this soft fancy chair, people started to move away from me as far as possible.
They started talking a smally to each other and kicked me out of the table. I ended up in the corner with a big jacket I don't fit. We finally started talking. I didn’t know what they were talking about so, I screamed quite loudly:
“Am I in trouble?” I was quite embarrassed after i said that cause all of the attention was on me. It was silence for a while until they started talking again. They said:
“Ms.Le, we are proud to say that we do agree with your opinion and we do need to care about poor people in the country.” they replied. I have never felt more respected. Just them saying “Ms.Le” makes me want to faint. I felt very respected and it's really different how they talked to me in court and now. Anyways, I finally did it! I was brave enough, and that was what helps me to what I am now. Well, it was worth it all those months being in jail. Now that know poor people in Saudi Arabia is going to get helped,I am happy enough. At the end of the meeting, they took me to the bathroom and they gave me some fancy clothes and I had to take a bath because I was stinky from my 3 day old prison uniform.
"When they announced it, my heart was pumping so hard that it wanted to jump out of my body and dance. The quote that I would never forget in my life is when they said:
"You were right, we are supposed to take care of our country more and think about the poor people in our country and how they are having a hard life. Thank you for the idea. We would reward you with some money and you can leave".
I can't believe they have my this much money! I remember 2 years ago, I dreamed to be rich and invest farms. That is still one of my wishes. Oh well, let's keep dreaming I guess. I still don't have enough money to invest. I looked up in my apartment, looking in the window of the beautiful city New York.

The Big Project
After 3 years working hard to achieve my goal, now sitting in an office chair counting money, it was 4 years ago that I had to experience in that horrible jail. And 3 extra years of working for a farm to earn money. Now that I had reached my goals and what I have always dreamed of ,I had invest in a farm, my life is so much better now. I'm making thousands of dollars a month. The smell of this green crisp of paper with Benjamin Franklins face on it was the most exciting time in my day. Just seeing my staff come in, I would give them a hug first then some candy. I want to make my staffs as happy as possible working here at FCC (Fashion Clothing Company). Happy workers makes a happy company! Man, thinking about my past just made me more sad and emotional. Sometimes, the government would call me for help. So, I have to go to meetings with the government. And we got a brand new month lasting project. We are trying to help the poor as much as possible. One of our ideas was to give food around the land. In the meeting we talked about poverty, taxes and some other things related to citizens in Saudi Arabia. It took almost a whole day of work, but it's totally worth it. I really care about people that are poor in Saudi Arabia, my own country. I remember the days when we shared food together. Today, my plan is to visit my old poor friends that I lived with for years. I taught them how to fish so they can survive and gave them a shelter and some extra food and , money. Now that I am “rich” I know how both poor and rich people feel. As a rich person, I feel bad for them so, I Decided to help them again. When I was giving out food, the government rushed me to the building and suddenly everyone screams.
Mission Complete
“YEAH” everyone shouted loudly. Our project is finally done someone said while other people high five each other. The government decided to help the poor. They wanted to help them out by building them shelters and to pu them with other poor people. The government wanted to put strangers together because they think that the people who lives together would help each other out. If they are uncomfortable, they would move in with someone else or live on their own. The government also taught the poor skills like cutting wood, fish and other thing syou need to know to survive. Now that everyone is happy, our country is happy life is awesome.
